Alexander Technique teaching makes you more aware of how your body works and its resources. This awareness creates a potential for changing bodily habits that have unwanted effects and to find new ways of being in the world in a strong and relaxed way.

The Alexander Technique teacher helps you do this by guiding you verbally and with their hands, often taking their point of departure in every day movements like sitting or standing from a chair or by guided relaxation on a table.

The technique also requires active participation from the student. It is a path of gradually increasing bodily awareness that makes you more and more conscious about taken-for-granted bodily habits, while concurrently learning other possibilities for use of the self.

Often this work will involve discovering imbalances and tensions and to find ways of increasing your sense of being in balance, relaxed and safe.
